Adobe Creative Suite 2

The graphics software giant, Adobe, releases version 2 of its web and graphic design software packages, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and GoLive.

Adobe has released version 2 of its graphics tools bundle, Creative Suite (CS). Included in the bundles are updates to all it's major product line. From the print design aspect, this includes brand new versions of photographic image editor, Photoshop; vector drawing program Illustrator; and desktop publishing layout application, InDesign.

Adobe have also updated their premier WYSIWYG web site design software tool, GoLive. Thrown into the bundle are two workflow management tools. Adobe Bridge is a file sharing browser, color management and project asset management tool. also bundled is Version Cue, which adds version control, file searching and document management features to the creative work-flow.

The Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) bundle comes in two versions, Premium and Standard. Both packages include Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. Additionally, both versions also include Adobe Stock Photos, a new service enabling designers to search for royalty free images, from within Adobe applications. The Premium edition of Adobe CS2 also includes the latest version of Acrobat Pro and GoLive.

Adobe GoLive Key GoLive features include: Mobile development environment for OMA, W3C, and 3GPP standards and web authoring tools based on CSS/XHTML, SVG Tiny, SMIL. Opera browser-based Small-Screen Rendering (SSR) tools for mobile phones and PDA browsers. Real-time previews. Visual tools for standards-compliant, CSS content web development. New site management tools and file uploading tools, including Secure FTP (SFTP) and WebDAV via SSH or SSL. New collaborative asset management and version control tools. Automatic favicon creation. Drag and drop integration with InDesign.
Adobe Illustrator Key Illustrator features include: Live Trace, which allows the conversion of bitmap images into vector paths. Live Paint, a new feature to intuitively color artwork by overlapping paths. New context-sensitive control palette and custom workspaces, to eliminate the need for multiple floating palettes. Support for Adobe Photoshop layers. Adobe Bridge and Adobe Stock Photos integration. Expanded stroke options, mobile content creation, spot color colorized grayscale creation and PDF/X support.
Adobe InDesign Key InDesign features include: Adobe Bridge asset management for use with InDesign templates and snippets. Object styles to apply and globally update object-level (graphics, copy and frame-level attributes) formatting. Adobe Photoshop layers and Adobe PDF layer support. Export InDesign objects as snippets for sharing or reuse in other documents. InCopy, for isolating the editorial elements of a document from the design. Precise control the positioning of anchored objects. Automatic styling of Microsoft Word files, on import, to InDesign styles.
Adobe Photoshop Key Photoshop features include: Adobe Bridge file handling to process multiple digital camera raw images - including Digital Negative (DNG), resize, rate and label thumbnails, review images as a slide show and search metadata. Vanishing Point, for cloning, painting and pasting in perspective. New multiple layer control allows moving, grouping, transforming and warping of objects by clicking and dragging directly on the work canvas. Non-destructive scaling, rotating and warping of raster and vector graphics (including preserving the editability of Adobe Illustrator vector data). Image Warp, for creating packaging design mock-ups. Noise reduction for digital photos. Support for 32-bit High Dynamic Range (HDR). Customizable menus and workspaces. One stop red-eye correction. Spot Healing Brush.
