Design & publishing conference

design publishing conference

Graphics software publisher Adobe recently organised a conference called 'Ideas - a creative exchange'. Hosted in New York in April 2005, the conference brought together creatives from the design and publishing industries. The premise was to share ideas on emerging trends in the design industry and the impact of technology on design solutions.

As well as keynote sessions, the conference included 'New Thinking Sessions' - which involved discussions on a number of design, publishing, branding and technological issues, including the following;
  • Building a Brand from the Bottom Up
  • Custom Communications for Niche Markets
  • The Role of Digital Information Design in Branding
  • The New Relationship Between Photography and Design
  • Digital Asset Management and Collaboration
  • Using Technology to Embrace Change
There were also a series of 'Adobe Live' events, which focused on practical design and publishing solutions using Adobe's design software applications.

There are numerous Adobe graphics software related debates in the Design : Talkboard design forums. Recent discussions include:

- Adobe's graphics products One member asks if they have more bugs than usual
- Discussion about Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Illustrator versus Macromedia's Freehand - forum members discuss their preferences.
