Alias 3D design

Transportation design students from twenty-six international design schools have been invited to design a 'World Car'. Sponsored by 3D design software developer, Alias, the competition has a number of design criteria.
Firstly, the vehicle has to be easily recognised as coming from a particular culture - that is, the culture of the country where the student is studying. Aditionally, it should also be a car that could conceivably be in full-scale production within ten years. The winning car design will also not be more expensive than the average for the student's country. According to Alias, the winning designs will be judged on their "aesthetics, presentation, clarity, and inclusion of technical elements that have a practical application in the real-world".
The 3D design students will be competing for a total jackpot of US$145,000, which includes 3D software from Alias. The World Automotive Design Competition (WADC) begins on February 18 – 27, 2005 at The Skydome and Metro Toronto Convention Centre, in Toronto, Canada.
