Distiller
Adobe Acrobat Distiller is the design professional's tool of choice for creating prepress ready PDF files. Although PDFs can be produced in many ways, Acrobat Distiller is generally the safest way to produce PDFs that will output correctly from an imgagesetter.
Distiller will take PostScript (.ps) printer files and convert them to print-ready PDFs. Distiller has a number of settings and can be adjusted to produce different types of PDFs depending on the specifications required. Pre-press companies can supply Distiller profiles to designers that can be imported into Distiller, so that the correct type of PDF can be produced easily.
