Overmatter
extend. Overflowed text, reflowed text, over-matter
Overmatter is the extra text that has not fitted into the intended area of a page layout.
When laying out a page, graphic designers will often link a block of text to a blank page. This shows a sub-editor to see how much text has reflowed and allows them to cut the text to fit.
