The Macintosh computer is a PC and operating system package, developed by Apple Computer. Apple Macs are the dominant form of computer hardware used in the graphic arts industry and in publishing. Although this is less the case than it used to be, as Windows based PCs have become easier to use and able to run graphics intensive software.
Macromedia
Software publisher of a number of popular web design, multimedia and graphics software applications, including Dreamweaver, Flash, Director and Fireworks.
Macromedia has recently been the subject of a merger, with graphics software giant Adobe.

Margin guides are used in various page layout software applications, such as QuarkXpress or InDesign, to define the margins of the page. Usually, these can be applied either by typing in a numeric specification, or by dragging the guidelines. Generally the margin guides are applied on a template page, so that the settings are carried forward to every page on the document
