Apple has released a maintenance update for Final Cut Express HD. Final Cut Express HD 3.5.1 addresses compatibility issues with on specific hardware. The update is available to download from Apple's Web site.

Bryce 6 upgrade

DAZ have released version 6.0 of their 3D landscape generation software tool, Bryce. The program which can create 3D environments for animations, print, multimedia, video and the Web now features character animation import capabilities.

Page Control for Adobe InDesign – public beta

Page Control allows layout designers to create different page sizes in the same document, or to enlarge or reduce the pasteboard in InDesign. Documents are not limited to a single page size. Inserts and foldouts can be created without workarounds. Mac and Windows versions of the beta are available as 14 day trials.

MultiAd Creator beta download

MultiAd Creator is a cross-platform desktop publishing layout package, aimed predominantly at producing advertising designs. Version 8 of the public beta is available for download from Creator Software.

InDesign to Quark 7 for Windows

Hot on the heals of the Mac version, Markzware has released its InDesign to QuarkXpress conversion XTension for Windows designers. ID2Q7 allows QuarkXPress users a way to convert InDesign documents (from version 1.5 through to version 4) into QuarkXPress versions 6 or 7 files.

QuarkXpress 7.02 update

Page layout program QuarkXpress has been updated to version 7.0.2. The update is a maintenance release, but will also provide some new functionality, including updated license-transfer features and typographic support for new languages, including Polish, Greek, Croatian, Finnish, Portuguese European, Portuguese Brazilian, Russian, Turkish, Catalan and Slovak. Quark has also added hyphenation support for Hungarian.

GraphicConverter X - 5.9.2

Graphic Converter is a Mac only graphics package that can convert nearly 200 different graphics file formats and save them in up to 80 different file formats. Although not being a touch on Adobe Photoshop, GraphicConverter also provides some basic image editing features.

This update has numerous bug fixes and adds the ability to import some new graphics file formats.

Mac OS X 10.4.8

Apple have announced the release of an incremental update to OS X Tiger. This update addresses a number of bugs, security issues and also extends reliability for Apple USB modems, OpenType fonts in Microsoft Word, 3rd party USB hubs, scanner performance and RAW camera support.
