Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac adds new graphics features

Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac, is the latest version of the virtualization software tool that allows Mac designers with Intel-based computers to run Windows and Linux operating systems whilst still being booted in OS X. All without the need to use Apple's Boot Camp to restart the computer and load Windows.

Version 3.0 of Parallels adds a number of features which may be of particular interest to graphic artists. Parallels has added hardware-accelerated 3D graphics support, for technologies such as OpenGL and DirectX. This potentially allows creatives to make use of Windows only 3D-intensive applications, such as modeling and CAD programs on the Mac, without having to reboot into Windows.

Parallels 3.0 also adds Boot Camp support for Windows Vista installations, as well as new security features to limit the degree of integration between the Windows installation and Mac OS X. A new Snapshots feature allows users to save their Windows installation and then revert to it, should their be a problem later on.
