Skymatter Limited, publisher of 3D software applications, has announced the release of a free trial version of Mudbox 1.0.4, the company’s advanced 3D modeling software.

Bare Bones software have updated their mac based web development text edit tools BBEdit to version 8.6.1 and TextWrangler to version 2.2.1. The updates are primarily for maintenance purposes.

Adobe Flash Lite version 3 will support video for mobile phones

Adobe has announced that it will implement video into its next version of Flash Lite software. Flash Light is the mobile phone version of Adobe's Flash Player. Flash Lite 3 is expected to be available for download in the first half of 2007.

DiskWarrior 4

Alsoft has released a Universal Binary version of its Macintosh disk repair and optimization tool, DiskWarrior. Version 4 is compatible with Intel-based Apple Macs. DiskWarrior optimizes Mac directories and repairs hard disks including RAID volumes, FileVaults, disk images and even iPods.

MAGIX acquires Graphics Specialist Xara

Xara, the publisher of graphics, imaging software and online services for creative web sites such as Xara Xtreme, Xara 3D, Xara Webstyle and Xara Online Services has been acquired by a German company called MAGIX AG.

MAGIX distribute photographic, music and video software in Germany and other European countries and also has a presence in the USA.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 for Windows Vista

Graphics software publisher Corel has announced that CorelDraw Graphics Suite X3 has been certified for use with the recently released Windows Vista operating system. Existing CorelDraw customers who want to use CorelDraw with Vista can download a service pack (SP2) from the Corel website.
