Imagesynth is an Adobe Photoshop plugin, from Luxology, for creating textures and high resolution images from low resolution sources using advanced image synthesis algorithms. Initially available only as part of Modo – a 3D 3D modeling, painting and rendering program – Imagesynth is now available for purchase separately.

QuarkXpress universal binary edition

Quark has announced the release of its mainstay desktop publishing application QuarkXpress in universal binary format, for Intel equipped Apple Macintosh computers. Beating InDesign to the punch, QuarkXpress will now install and run at full speed on the latest Mac Pros.

Alien Skin Software releases Blow Up Photoshop plugin

Blow Up is a Photoshop plugin that claims to be able to enlarge low resolution bitmap images up to six times without leaving obvious artifacts. Features include sharpening, grain controls and supports most bitmap file formats.

It is available for PowerPC Mac OS X and Windows 2000 and XP computers.
