Adobe beta of professional audio software for producing sound for web and video workflows. Adobe Soundbooth software for audio creativesCreative software publisher Adobe has announced the availability of a public beta of a new software tool called Soundbooth, which allows the creation and editing of audio using visually-oriented tools. Adobe claim that Soundbooth allows creative professionals to record, edit and create high quality audio without requiring special training in sound production. Soundbooth's integration with Macromedia Flash and Premiere Pro (both owned by Adobe) allows Soundbooth to eliminate noise from recordings, polish voiceovers and customize music for use in video, multimedia productions and interactive websites. Ease of use is the message that Adobe are pushing for this tool and their target market is aimed firmly in the web design and video production markets. The aim is to allow creatives to utilise Soundbooth for importing audio tracks from Adobe Premiere Pro for precise editing and to add music. Soundbooth can also be used for creating animation cues for use in Flash and has the ability to put down markers for exporting as XML and used alongside Actionscript in Flash. Adobe plans to offer Soundbooth in place of its professional radio broadcast application, Adobe Audition, as the audio element in its integrated video editing package, Adobe Production Studio. Adobe Soundbooth is available as a free beta download for Intel-based Macs and Windows PCs. 26 October 2006 Other Adobe related features, reviews and forum discussions
