Quark release Flash design software tool for use within QuarkXpress.

Quark's Flash compatible interactive design tool

Quark have released a software application for creating interactive Flash content, without the need to learn to code in ActionScript.

Quark Interactive Designer enables graphic designers to create interactive design applications, such as interactive tours, online adverts and multimedia presentations

Quark's aim is to provide a tool for creatives who may have become alienated from Flash by the applications recent moves into more complex web content generation.

Quark Interactive Designer is pitched at designers who have created rich print targeted content with the aim of making it easy to repurpose that content for the web and other interactive mediums. The program provides numerous features for creating interactive buttons, animations, movies and a collection of predefined actions for transitioning pages, playing sounds, sliding objects, and creating interactive menus.

Quark Interactive Designer requires QuarkXPress 7.02 and is available for Mac OS X (as a Universal application) and Windows. It is priced at US$199 with an introductory offer of $99 until April 1, 2007.

Educational purchasers of QuarkXPress 7 can receive a copy of Quark Interactive Designer for free from the Quark education web site.
