New Pantone colors for designers

Metallic and pastel color palettes released

Color palette swatch manufacturer Pantone have released 125 specialty colors, in the form of two new swatches.

The latest Pantone metallic formula guide features 97 new metallic ink shades and the Pantone pastel color formula guide contains 28 new pastel color shades.

This brings the complete set of Pantone metallic ink colors to 301 – for coated substrates. Each of the chromatically arranged colors is displayed along with its unique Pantone number and ink mixing formulation.

The Pantone pastel formula guide now contains a total of 154 shades of ink which are not found in the lighter shades of the Pantone Matching System.

The new Pantone metallic and pastel color palettes are available in fan guide format, or as loose–leaf chips books with tear–out color swatches for easy color specification.

Pantone color swatchPantone are the developers of numerous color specification systems for designers, pre press professionals and printers. More details can be found from the Pantone web site. For more information about Pantone inks and CMYK specifications, please see the design glossary.
