Betas for Adobe Fireworks, Soundbooth and Dreamweaver CS4 software downloads available. Adobe CS4 beta downloads for Dreamweaver, Fireworks & SoundboothNobody outside of Adobe knows when Creative Suite 4 will be released. But Adobe has decided to give us a taster of some of the upcoming software applications by announcing the availability of downloadable beta versions of web design tool Dreamweaver, graphics tool Fireworks and the video editing application Soundbooth. Adobe says that the software downloads will demonstrate the direction of features in the forthcoming Adobe Creative Suite 4 and showcases technologies aimed at streamlining and simplifying design, development and production workflows. Being beta software, there will also be the opportunity for users to give feedback to Adobe. Dreamweaver CS4Features in the Dreamweaver beta include a Related Files Toolbar and Code Navigator which are intended to allow web designers to manage linked documents and to more easily make changes to code in various parts of a web document. Another new feature is Live View Mode which enhances the preview of content without having to leave Dreamweaver and view pages in a web browser. It also enhances the ability to debug interactive web pages and interact with Flash elements. Fireworks CS4The interface of Adobe Fireworks – which Adobe bought from Macromedia, along with Dreamweaver – has been redesigned so that it is consistent with the other Adobe Creative Suite applications. This new version of Fireworks also has the ability to export design compositions as high fidelity, interactive PDF files. It is also compatible with more Adobe software tools such as Adobe AIR, Flash and Flex Builder. Soundbooth CS4Soundbooth – which comes as part of the Adobe Production Premium Suite is an audio editing software tool for video professionals. The new beta version adds multiple track support, which enables video producers to edit multiple audio samples on many tracks, as well as to match volume levels across different audio files. Other features include previewing MP3 compression settings before having to save them and speech recognition tools that allow video editors to create transcripts of dialogue and then search within a timeline for words. The three downloadable public betas are available for Windows and Apple Mac OS X computers. However, Soundbooth will only run on Intel processor based Macintosh systems, not the older PowerPC Macs. The betas of Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, Fireworks CS4 and Soundbooth CS4 can be downloaded by anybody, but they will only function for 2 days. Current registered Adobe CS3 designers will be able to unlock the software and use it for free until the full version of Creative Suite 4 is released. 28 May 2008
