Sonnet, a Mac hardware upgrade manufacturer, has announced the release of the two hard drive storage systems –the desktop Fusion D400Q and the 1U rack mount Fusion R400Q SATA systems. Each system contains four swappable hard drives which can provide a total of 2 or 3 terabytes of data storage and connect to computers via a number of possible interfaces, eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0. 17 April 2007 Blackmagic Design Video capture cards Blackmagic Design have announced the release of, what they claim is the world's first HD editing card with HDMI and analog component, NTSC, PAL and S-Video capture and playback. Features include, stereo analog audio capture and playback, capture and playback of DV, HDV, Online JPEG and uncompressed video and real time effects which are supported in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro. The card is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X as a Universal Binary. 16 April 2007 Apple releases new Mac Pro desktops The latest professional grade Mac Pro computers from Apple have been boosted with two Quad-Core Intel Xeon Clovertown processors. The 3GHz eight-core Intel Xeon-based processors make this the fastest Mac ever released and also boast a number of other features aimed squarely at the professional graphic arts market. 5 April 2007 Apple AirPort Base Station update Apple have released an update for its AirPort Base Station. There are versions for both Mac and Windows users. The 2007-001 update addresses compatibility issues with the following software tools; AirPort Utility, AirPort Admin Utility for the Graphite and Snow Base Stations, AirPort Disk Utility, AirPort Disk Agent. 4 April 2007 Axiotron Doubles Pen Pressure Sensitivity for ModBook Axiotron, has announced that it doubled the pen pressure sensitivity on the ModBook Mac tablet line to 512 levels. This is aimed at giving graphic designers, who use tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter, double the sensitivity and control over other TabletPCs on the market.
